Speak up guardian and Dementia Friend

HCPC Paramedic / Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner

Ben has completed a Foundation Science Degree in paramedic science at the University of Worcester. Further to this, he has topped up to Bachelor of Science with Honours in Paramedic Development through the University of Cumbria and is a registered HCPC Paramedic. He is now studying at the University of Warwick completing his masters of science in Advanced Clinical Practice. Ben currently work's for a busy acute NHS trust as a trainee ACP within Cardiology. Prior to this he had worked within the Emergency Department as an Emergency Practitioner after 5 years with the ambulance service- in his role Ben will see a variety of patients presenting with predominantly cardiac complaints, from there on he will assess, diagnose and decide a treatment plan best suited for the individual patien. Ben, in his role, is also a practice educator for students- passing on his knowledge and experience to the next generation of healthcare students.

Ben is also our speak up guardian, he ensures that people who speak up are thanked, that the issues they raise are responded to, and make sure that the person speaking up receives feedback on the actions taken. Ben is both our Dementia Friend and a representative for The Ambulance Staff Charity (TASC) where he offers support and signposts staff to the services which they provide. Alongside all of this Ben is also a Special Constable at the rank of Special Sergeant with West Midlands Police working alongside regular police officers with the exact same powers to help provide a service to the public.

Ben has a specific interest in acute and emergency medicine in both adults and paediatrics. He has sub-interests in pharmaceutical management, airway management and mental capacity.

Ben does all things social media for PACT and is a part of the organising team for events.

Natasha Westwood

Modern Matron and Human Resources

Emergency Care Nurse and Emergency Nurse Practitioner

Natasha is an experienced Accident and Emergency Nurse whom has worked in a variety of hospitals inclusive of a major trauma centre where Natasha has risen to the role of senior sister.

Natasha is currently employed as Lead Nurse in an Emergency Department and also works as an Emergency Nurse Practitioner (ENP) where she can.

She has also undertaken extensive pre-hospital experience having run medical centres on large scale festivals. Tash is qualified in EPALS and TNCC. Tash is further a Instructor Candidate for Advanced Life Support.

Martin Gallagher

Governance Manager

NMC Nurse and Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner

Martin is an experienced Nurse in Accident and Emergency and currently works as a Trainee ACP where he is independently seeing, assessing and treating patients.

He has years of pre-hospital experience, having worked many festivals and large-scale events. Martin is a sepsis champion. Qualified in ALS, EPALS and TNCC. Martin has recently been given a role with the West Midlands CARE team as a Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine Nurse.

Ashley Wood

Fleet manager

HCPC Paramedic

Ash is a Graduated with a Foundation Degree in Paramedic Science having worked for a busy NHS ambulance service. Ash progressed through the ranks, having risen from Ambulance Mechanic to Specialist Forensic Paramedic. Ash has taken the lead of fleet and operations and looks after our vehicles and equipment.

Cheryl Timmins

Events team member

IHCD Ambulance Technician and Sports Therapist

Cheryl is an IHCD Ambulance Technician working upon a 999-frontline contract on behalf of a private ambulance service. She is a well respected Sports Therapist across the sporting arena, with interest in Taekwondo and Martial Arts. Cheryl has treated high profile atheletes and Olympians during her career.

Having many years experience as a Sports Therapist and serving as a resident to BUPA she literally has healing hands. She is a much-loved member of the team, having won the team member of the year 2018 for PACT. Cheryl also offers staff welfare services.

DAN FLETCHER

Critical Care Lead

HCPC Paramedic and Critical Care Paramedic

Daniel is the Critical Care lead for PACT, providing his wealth of knowledge and skills for critical care response and transportation work within PACT.

Building from a Foundation degree in Pre-hospital Unscheduled and Emergency Care followed by a BSc (Hons) in Emergency Practice from Wolverhampton University; he has completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Critical Care. He currently works as a Critical Care Paramedic now as part of the Critical Care Car and Helicopter crew with Midlands Air Ambulance.

He is an active member in CARE, and has previously worked as a Hazardous Area Response Team paramedic.

He holds specialist interest in critical care and anaesthetics.
